What a stupid tragedy! The FBI 's grudge against Leonard is ever ongoing, but they're too biased and stuck in time look at the truths staring them in the face. Yes, Leonard was there but he didn't pull the trigger on the gun that killed the two stupid agent pursuing a number of armed warriors onto their lands -- and all for a case of stolen cowboy boots! Besides, I know--many of us know who killed them and it wasn't Leonard. The warrior that did it died a number of years later in Canada.

There has been no end to the injustice done, my friends (NA and FN) kept saying.

Sadly, they were and are right.

Leonard Peltier should be free. Period.

Thank you very much for this post. I just remembered, I bought a copy of PRISON WRITINGS: My Life Is My Sun Dance, Leonard Peltier, US prisoner #89637-132. Edited by Harvey Arden. Introduction by Chief Arvol Looking Horse. Preface by Former Attorney General Ramsey Clark. (Saint Martin’s Press, copyright 1999).

Peter, Thanks for the timely contextual book review. My prayer is that, since Assange is out of prison and with his family and can enhance his healing process, that some kinda divine ripple effect allows that for Peltier. Also as a side note, Mathiessen was a roshi at Ocean Zendo for almost three decades https://www.matthiessencenter.org/

Good to have situated this in the larger context of ongoing ‘Indian wars’ and worldviews. Thanks.

Aloha Peter, did you know, the late US Senator Daniel Inoue from Hawaii was the “head” of the BIA.

Today, Brian Shatz of Hawaii occupies his position @ the BIA. Daniel Inoue’s army buddies witnessed

him going through the pockets of dead soldiers in WW11. After he lost one of his arms, they nicknamed him, the One-Arm Bandit. After Daniel Inoue died, the Fake State of Hawaii renamed the Honolulu Air Port: The Daniel K. Inoue Air Port. Why does Hawaii keep installing crooked politicians in the BIA?

I spoke with Leonard by phone at his Defense Committee Offices near Leavenworth in 1998. He had to call me back a few times. I wrote his story for News From Indian Country. Even then, we were pretty sure he'd be paroled. He's had amazing attorney's and I interview Ramsey Clark as well.

Thanks for the info. The late US Senator Daniel K Inoue from Hawaii occupied the BIA all through out his career. When he was an army soldier in WW11, his army buddies witnessed him going through the pockets of dead soldiers. After he lost one of his arms, his army buddies nicknamed him, the One-Arm Bandit. Today, Brian Shatz from Hawaii occupies the BIA. After Daniel K. Inoue died, Hawaii renamed the Honolulu Airport: The Daniel K. Inoue Airport. Trace, in Hawaii the names of crooked politicians, land thieves, etc. are on buildings, and statues are erected all over the place. Just like what you wrote.

Hi Trace, a couple of months before my mom passed, she told me she dated Daniel Inoue when he had two arms. She didn’t like him, and stopped dating him.

Some time later she started dating my father, fell in love…. and Married.

I’m so lucky….otherwise my name might be Larry Inoue.

End of Soap Opera, “As the World Turns."
